The new show will be a Netflix Original. Hypebae says that there is now a Nickelodeon-Netflix deal worth $200 million for multiple years. Teen Vogue reports that they have known about a SpongeBob spinoff since February, but now more information has been provided to the public. Squidward is known to be grouchy, dull, annoyed and unsuccessful. However, over the years, many people on social media have brought up the fact that as they get older, they feel they’re becoming more and more like Squidward instead of SpongeBob. His personality is shown in daily life and at work, according to social media users. The spinoff will apparently be “music-based,” according to Hypebae. Squidward is known for playing his clarinet and not being so great at it. A release date has not yet been announced. In the meantime, a new SpongeBob movie trailer was released. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is set to be released May 22, 2020.
