Proposal for election through ballot paper passed in Maharashtra village
Mumbai. Kolewadi village in Maharashtra's Satara district has passed a resolution to conduct all elections using ballot papers in future. Expressing doubts over the reliability of EVMs, the villagers said they would vote only when the ballot paper system is implemented. If the administration does not give permission, they would boycott the polling. The collector said, further steps would be taken only after receiving a copy of the resolution. Kolewadi village falls under Karad (South) assembly constituency. Here Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan had to face defeat from BJP candidate Atul Bhosale in the assembly elections held last month.
