Opposition may give notice today for impeachment of the judge

Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav has come under fire for his statement at a Vishwa Hindu Parishad event. The parties involved in the India Alliance are preparing to give a notice in the Rajya Sabha to bring a motion of impeachment against him. Sources said that 36 opposition MPs from different parties have already signed this petition. The petition has been prepared by Rajya Sabha MP and lawyer Kapil Sibal. The opposition will try for more signatures on Thursday. Then it will be presented in the House. The notice has demanded to initiate impeachment proceedings against the Justice under Article 124 (4) and 124 (5) along with Section 3 (1) (B) of the Judges (Inquiry) Act.
