Haryana: Retired education department official cheated of Rs 4.36 lakh
Panchkula: A retired officer from the education department of Himachal Pradesh has been cyber-cheated of Rs 436000. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case in Sector-20 Cyber Police Station of Panchkula and started investigation. Sector 21 resident Sudesh Kumar Sood told the police in his complaint that in January 2024, he met a woman on Facebook. The said woman had told him about working as a manager in a pharmaceutical company in America. The victim sent his biodata to the woman and expressed his desire to work. After this, the woman lured him to buy rare seeds from Nagaland for a pharmaceutical company and sell it in its currency. The victim, falling into the trap of the woman, also transferred Rs 436000 in two installments to the bank accounts mentioned by the accused woman to buy rare seeds from Nagaland. After the money was transferred, the woman did not pick up the phone.
