The victim undertrial Parwinder Singh alias Sodhi son of Karnail Singh resident of Basti Neka Wali village Bukan Kha Wala district Ferozepur, who is lodged in the jail, said that on November 19, he had a fight with some other undertrials in the jail over taking out the goods from a basket and keeping them. Due to this rivalry, undertrial Karnail Singh son of Ajaib Singh resident of Kalsia Kala district Tarn Taran, undertrial Mandeep Singh alias Paramjit Singh son of Joginder Singh resident of village Mabo district Ferozepur, undertrial Gurleen Singh son of Darshan Singh resident of village Vading Mohanpura district Tarn Taran, undertrial Gurjeet Singh resident of Ferozepur city, undertrial Bachitar Singh and two unknown undertrials went to the barrack of the victim and assaulted him and injured him. Investigating officer in the case, Sub Inspector Sarwan Singh, said that based on the statement of the victim, the police have registered a case under sections 115(2), 190 BNS against the five hawala operators and two unidentified hawala operators and further investigation has been started.
