Islamabad/Lahore | The Pakistan government has deployed the army in Islamabad and Lahore to stop the rally of supporters of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Curfew has been imposed in both the cities. This shutdown has been called by Imran's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Imran has been in jail for a year. Imran refused to postpone the protest despite the government's appeal. PTI is holding this rally for the release of Imran, support for the judiciary, and against inflation. Due to this, the army will be deployed in Islamabad from October 5 to October 17. Meanwhile, PTI has claimed that the Shahbaz Sharif government has arrested Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
