One-third of the online food products in the country do not meet the standards. Investigation of 3 thousand food products revealed that out of these 1 thousand food products the food ingredients were not mentioned on the label. According to the NetFirst report the rules of the food safety agency FSSAI are being violated. FSSAI has made new rules regarding labeling by implementing revised rules. Key labeling information such as nutritional table, ingredients, weight was not displayed on more than 450 food products. 150 food products did not have the manufacturer's barcode. New rules: Complete information of the food ingredients should be clearly published on the packet. FSSAI license number should be mentioned on the packet. Sample of the food product can be taken at any point of the supply chain.
