Big private equity (PE) companies and investment banks around the world are choosing Indians to lead business in Asia. Firms like KKR, Blackstone and Carlyle are giving responsibility for the whole of Asia to Indian executives. America's Blackstone's Asia portfolio is headed by Amit Dixit. He has been with the company since 2007 and has been a part of many important investments in South Asia. Similarly, Gaurav Trehan, an Indian, is the partner and co-head of KKR Asia-Pacific. He is also the CEO of KKR India. Apart from Trehan, Hardik Shah is also a partner in KKR's Asia-Pacific infrastructure team. He works on South Asian investments from the Mumbai branch.
