Microplastics have been found in all brands of sugar and salt sold in the country. Their size ranges from 0.1 to 5 mm. According to research, the highest amount of microplastics was found in iodized salt. All brands of sugar and salt (packed, loose) were included in the research. According to a study by environmental research organization 'Toxic Link', 89.15 pieces of microplastics were found in every kilogram of iodine salt. There were 6.70 pieces in 1 kilogram of organic rock salt. Similarly, the number of microplastics in sugar samples ranged from 11.85 to 68.25 pieces per kilogram. Most microplastics were found in non-organic sugar. These fragments come in many forms including fibers, pellets, films and pieces
