Work is underway to make Chandigarh Railway Station a world class railway station. Rail Land • Development Authority had asked for a block from July 12 to August 9 due to work on platform number-1. The authority has now asked for another block till 17th August to complete the work of Platform No. 1. The surface of the platform has not been prepared within the stipulated period.
The foundation work of Beam 1 has been completed, but the work of the surface i.e. floor of Platform No. 1 is incomplete. In such a situation, the authority has again asked for a block till August 17. Due to this, the operation of Nawali Shatabdi, Vande Bharat Express and other trains has been stopped from here.
