Chandra Mohan, former Deputy Chief Minister of Panchkula Haryana and member of the All India Congress Committee, has welcomed the recent ban imposed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on converting the school site in Sector-21 into a group housing society. According to him, this is a victory for the people's struggle and for Naveen Bansal and his associates.
The High Court's decision on Monday stayed the conversion of the 5-acre school site in Sector-21 for group housing, which was planned by the officers of the Haryana Urban Development Authority. Advocate Naveen Bansal, the general secretary of the House Honors Welfare Association of Sector-21, represented the case and argued that a school is necessary in such a big sector. High Court Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhwalia and Justice Harpreet Kaur Jeevan's double bench ruled in favor of the House Honors Welfare Association on Monday.
It is important to note that the reserved site for the school is located behind the police station of Sector-21 and was recently decided to be allotted to the group housing society by the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). However, the House Honors Welfare Association of Sector-21 challenged this decision in the High Court, which resulted in the recent ban.
This decision by the High Court is a significant victory for the residents of Sector-21 and highlights the importance of prioritizing education and ensuring that every sector has access to quality educational facilities.
