Two constables of the Chandigarh Police, Ravinder Singh and Anil Kumar, have been dismissed from their duties following a report from the Mahendragarh SP. The order was issued by the Chandigarh Police on Thursday evening.
Constable Ravinder was arrested by the Narnaul police along with other smugglers at a checkpoint. He was driving a Scorpio and was found in possession of liquor and beer bottles. The apprehended accused has been identified as Ravinder of Mundiya Kheda and is a constable of the UT Police. The driver of the canter, Soni Canter of Bhiwani's Dabur Colony, and a youth from Bhiwani who was the helper of the canter driver were also arrested.
Constable Anil, who was serving as a Munshi at Sector-26 police station, fled from the spot along with another smuggler, Naveen. The Narnaul police recovered uniforms and name plates of both the constables from the spot and informed the Chandigarh Police.
Based on the report, both constables were dismissed from their duties. The incident has raised concerns about the integrity of the police force and the need for stricter measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. The Chandigarh Police must take steps to ensure that such incidents do not tarnish the reputation of the force and that the public's trust in law enforcement is maintained.
