Chandigarh | On the directions of Energy Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has suspended Junior Engineer Gurvinder Singh, posted at Gonyana sub-division, Distribution Division Bathinda, on charges of irregularities and negligence in the line of official duty. The minister said that this step has been taken on the basis of a complaint received by PSPCL from WhatsApp. The said junior engineer was allegedly demanding a bribe to install domestic electricity connection for tubewell room from 24-hour supply line of 11 KV feeder. The Technical Audit Wing of PSPCL, during preliminary enquiry, found that JE Gurvinder Singh cleared the file in violation of rules and also arranged three poles. The minister said that the JE, during the site visit due to investigation, observed that the concerned 'site does not meet the criteria for domestic connection as per PSPCL rules'. The minister made it clear that he would not tolerate any laxity and corruption while performing his duty.
