The Supreme Court has upheld the ban on caste-based census in Bihar. The Supreme Court, while rejecting the petition of the Bihar government, said- 'The decision of the Patna High Court to ban was legally correct and we do not want to make any changes in it. The Bihar government should present its case in the Patna High Court. If the government is not satisfied with the High Court, then we are ready for hearing on July 14. Supreme Court Justice Abhay S. Oka and Justice Rajesh Bindal's bench said- 'It should also be investigated whether this exercise is not a census in the guise of survey.'
