The Prayagraj Allahabad High Court has issued an order for scientific investigation of the Shivling-like structure found inside the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. In an order passed on Friday, the High Court set aside the October 14 verdict of the Varanasi district court which had rejected the demand for scientific investigation of the structure on the grounds that it was a matter of faith.
High Court Justice Arvind Kumar Mishra, in an order on Friday, ordered the officials of the Archaeological Department of India (ASI) to determine the age of Shivling-like structures through carbon dating. Use technology for this. And take care not to damage the structure.
