Chandigarh| The excise policy for this financial year has been implemented from April 1, but all the liquor contracts have not been sold yet. That's why now the Excise and Taxation Department of the administration is going to conduct the auction again on 27th April. This time there will be bidding for the remaining 22 contracts.
Due to the loss due to Punjab's excise policy and this time again due to similar provisions, the businessmen are bidding only after thinking. This is the reason why auction of contracts had to be done more than five times since March till now. On the other hand, if all the contracts are not sold, then bidding will have to be done to sell the contracts in the same way in May. The target was set to open a total of 95 contracts in Chandigarh, out of which only 73 have been sold so far.
