Mumbai | There is currently no possibility of iPhone maker Apple manufacturing iPad and Mac personal computers in India. According to officials associated with the matter, during the recent visit of Apple CEO Tim Cook, the company has shown no interest in manufacturing iPad and Mac personal computers in India. The central government is trying to get Apple to join its Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Mac computers. In 2021, Apple tried to shift some manufacturing of iPad from China to India but since its vendor was Chinese company BYD, it did not get the necessary approval in India. Apple's component maker Foxconn is going to set up a 4116 crore plant in Telangana, where it can manufacture Airpods.
