At the same time, there is a shortage of teachers with the education department. In such a situation, to overcome the shortage of teachers to some extent, the education department is recruiting 140 ECCE interns.
Director School Education HPS Brar said that appointments have been given to 108 recruits from DAV Sector-15 and Raja Ram Mohan Roy Institute on Thursday and schools have also been allotted. These interns will join the schools from Monday. On the other hand, the remaining 32 will be finalized by Monday and allotted to schools. These interns will fill the gap between the current requirement and available teachers, besides assisting in the classes. They will be given 10 thousand rupees per month and their internship will be for one year. Brar told that last year also the department had appointed 80 interns.
