Taking a big decision on Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has extended the age limit by two years for the youth who want to become a Sub Inspector (SI) in Police. Now the youth of 30 years can also participate in the recruitment. With this, the process of application for recruitment started on Wednesday which will continue till December 10. Apart from this, the number of related posts has also been increased from 800 to 1200. On Wednesday, the state administration has taken this decision as per the instructions of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
For the first time in Jammu and Kashmir, the responsibility of completing the recruitment process for the posts of Sub Inspector has been entrusted to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Recruitment Board. Sub Inspectors were to be recruited in 2019. This recruitment could not be done due to the circumstances and the situation arising out of Corona. The selection was done by the recruitment board of the police organization. Earlier the age limit to get admitted in SI was 33 years.
