A simple molecule made of RNA called 'SLR14' starts the functioning of the immune system. It is this molecule that first starts its struggle against the infection of Covid-19. Scientists at Yale School of Medicine found in research done on rats that this molecule 'SLR14' can kill the deadly virus of Covid-19. From this single-molecule a group of different proteins together with abundant interferons are formed.
It has been found in various researches that patients of Covid-19 who make excessive interferons, do not take long to recover. They are affected rapidly in the initial infection. Waldemar von Zedtwitz and Akiko Wasaki, professors of biology at Yale, said that this new class of RNA could be used to treat Covid-19 by adding it to the anti-corona viral drug.
