The Indian women's football team will take on former World Cup runners-up Brazil for the first time during an international tournament later this month in preparation for next year's AFC Asian Cup.
India ranked 57th in the world rankings, will also take on Chile and 56th ranked Venezuela, ranked 37th in the FIFA rankings, in this tournament to be held in Manaus, Brazil from November 25 to December 1. Brazil has a world ranking of seven. She will be led by star footballer Marta Vieira da Silva, widely regarded as women's football's best player of all time. The tour is part of the Indian women's team's preparations for the AFC Women's Asia Cup. The Asia Cup will be played in Mumbai and Pune from January 20 to February 6 next year. The Indian team will face Brazil on November 25, followed by Chile on November 28 and Venezuela on December 1.
