Taxpayers filing returns electronically can access their Annual Statement of Income (AIS) from the e-filing portal. This includes interest, dividends, securities, and mutual fund transactions and received from abroad. Additional categories of information such as money are included. The Income Tax Department last month expanded the list of high-value financial transactions, which will be available to taxpayers in their Form 26AS. This will include information such as mutual fund (MF) purchases, remittances from abroad.
Form 26AS is an annual statement that taxpayers can access from the Income Tax website using their PAN. The Income Tax Department tweeted, 'AIS facilitates easy access to information. It can be accessed on the e-filing portal and can be downloaded in various formats. The Annual Information Statement was announced in the last budget, which has now been implemented.
