BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has decided to resign as the Director of ATK Mohun Bagan to avoid any conflict of interest situation. According to information received from reliable sources, Sourav has started the process of stepping down. ATK Mohun Bagan, a football team owned by RP-SG Ventures Ltd, had placed a record bid of Rs 7,090 crore for the Lucknow franchise of IPL.
Saurav is a director as well as a shareholder of ATK Mohun Bagan. Sources said that Sourav will not hold any post in ATK Mohun Bagan till the time Sourav continues as the BCCI President. RPSG vice-president Sanjeev Goenka, when asked about this, indicated this and said, "I think Sourav will completely pull out of ATK Mohun Bagan."
